A window display at the Ashford Designer Outlet has been at the centre of controversy this week leading to a campaign to get it removed.

The Christmas display at the Ted Baker store, hailed as ‘Ted’s stocking thriller’, shows Santa’s red suit being blown up by the wind to show him wearing stockings and suspenders.

The campaign, which was set up by a local grandfather, has called for the removal of the provocative display but Ted Baker has said they will not be removing it.

Mr Booth of Stubbs Cross told the Kentish Express: "'I'm concerned that this perverted display will spoil the innocence of Christmas for children and also of the adverse comments that older children might make to the men who take on the role of Santa Claus at this time of year.'"

The scene which shows Santa flashing to a crowd of shocked children is one of the brand's many tongue-in-cheek displays.
